Honoring the Life and Legacy of Bennie Dalzell

Apr 1, 2025 | The Professional Noticer

Join us this week on The Professional Noticer as we honor the memory of Andy’s good friend, Bennie Dalzell—the beloved General Manager of the #1 Publix in America—who recently passed away.

In this special replay from 2021, Bennie shares incredible stories from his time running the store with the highest grossing day out of 1,272 locations across 7 states. From being headhunted for a position in Bermuda to managing one of the busiest grocery stores in the country, Bennie’s journey is as inspiring as it is entertaining.

You’ll also hear about one of Bennie’s most “difficult” customers (someone surprisingly close to Andy!), the store’s top-selling items, what he’d fix if he could, and so much more.

Bennie brought excellence, humility, and heart to everything he did. His leadership and warmth left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
